Trunk Vendor Rules and Regulations

Schedule:

11:15am: Trunk vendors start arriving for set up (staggered arrival times)

12:45am: All trunks must be set up and ready for Trunk or Treater arrival

1pm-2pm: Sensory Friendly Hour (specific rules listed below)

2pm-5pm: Timed Entry for General Public

6:00pm: All vehicles must be vacated from lot

Please read all information below prior to signing up. You will be asked to attest that you have read the event rules when completing your application. 

Vendors to Supply:

  • Decorated Trunk - Have fun and get creative with it! 

  • Swag for your business to hand out to the Parents / Adults - this is your chance to get in front of a huge portion of the community.

  • Chairs, Cooler or blankets (it is Colorado), Water / Drinks for Yourself, Snacks for Yourself

  • Candy / Goodies for handing out to registered attendees (approx. 2,500 kids). Remember, it doesn’t have to be candy! Any sort of Halloween Themed giveaway will do!

  • Due to anticipated numbers of attendees, we recommend you provide enough supplies to accommodate 2500-3000 attendees and personally hand a single piece to each participant to avoid running out. 

Downtown Business Alliance will Supply:

  • Each Vendor will have their own designated spot for your set up 

  • Volunteers on site throughout the day for support

  • 2,500+ Local Families for you to get in front of and promote your business

  • Trash receptacles will be provided throughout the event.

Rules

  • This is a RAIN or SHINE event. The only exception is extreme weather. We will give all vendors as much notice as possible should the event be canceled. Please come prepared for any weather Colorado may bring us in the middle of October.

  • Vendors MUST stay parked the entirety of the event. We will not allow any cars to drive through the parking lot during the event. This is to ensure the safety of the participants.

  • Vendors may NOT campaign for any political candidate or issue.

  • Vendors must do their part in cleaning up the area around their assigned space. Please throw out any trash and take all of your decorations/giveaways/belongings with you at the end of the event.

Sensory Friendly Specific Rules

Vendors must adhere to the following rules during the Sensory Friendly Hour (2pm-3pm). This is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of participants in this hour.

  • Low music

  • No flashing lights

  • Do not require kids to say trick or treat (or requiring eye contact)

  • No scary masks

  • Consider offering something other than candy (fidget, pencil, snap bracelet, etc) as many kiddos in this community have dietary restrictions

  • Do not ignore them or talk around them to the caregiver. Involve them in the conversation.

  • Take your cues from their caregiver/parent, they will appreciate your attempts to do the right thing!!
